Fitzgerald’s pub is one of the most popular Irish pubs in NYC and is known for having a great atmosphere to watch sports, listen to music or have a pint with friends. The menu features all of your favorite pub foods like wings, burgers and fries. But, if you’re looking for something different, they also offer a great selection of salads and sandwiches. Also, don’t forget to try their famous fish and chips!

Only three blocks from Madison Square Park towards the East Village you will find Molly’s Pub, which is one of our absolute favourites. We have been fans of this pub for a long time, we have been coming here regularly since our first visits to New York. It is super-authentic and radiates everything you would expect from a real Irish Pub (including sawdust on the floor!).

Paddy Maguire’s Ale House is a cozy Irish bar in the Gramercy Park neighborhood, run by former jockey Patrick Maguire. The pub delights with unique equestrian decor, two top pool tables and 15 types of draft beer. With 12 flat-screen TVs, it’s also a perfect spot for sports fans.

Pete’s Tavern

Pete’s Tavern is America’s oldest continuously running bar and restaurant, nestled in Gramercy Park. This historical gem has been serving patrons since 1864, despite its many changes. Originally a ‘grocery and grog store’ in the Portman Hotel, it transitioned to ‘Healy’s Café’ in 1899 before finally becoming Pete’s Tavern in 1922. The 40-foot rosewood bar, decorative back bar, tin ceiling, and tile floor are all original, dating back to 1864. Even the bar room booths and overhead cabinets are from the restaurant’s inception. A fun fact: renowned author O. Henry, who lived nearby, wrote “The Gift of the Magi” in one of their booths in 1903.

With relaxed live jazz you can choose from a very extensive whiskey repertoire (600 varieties!). What we hadn’t seen before is their program “Bottle Keep”. If you like a whiskey, you can buy the bottle and have it stored – of course labelled – to enjoy your bottle of whiskey again next time.

GramercyThe Old Bar is the epitome of New York and hosts a diverse crowd. This location has been around since 1892, so its name lives up to its promise.
The bar is best known for its burgers and for not having a website to this day! By the way: In the seating area on the first floor, you can watch the orders being transported from the kitchen upstairs through a dumbwaiter!
